The Devil Wears Prada may have hit our screens over 15 years ago now, but there are still four little words that chill us to the very bone: “florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Much as we love to hate Meryl Streep’s cold-as-ice character, Miranda Priestly, she does have a point. When you think of spring attire—or just spring in general—what’s the first thing that springs (heh) to mind?
That’s why we say bring more florals into the other seasons! Maybe if enough people do it, we can help make flower power a year-round aesthetic. In any case, a great floral piece is a garment that stands the test of time…much like the movie The Devil Wears Prada, come to think of it. There’s no way that came out in 2006, right?!
On that note, please see below for some of our floral favorites. They may be in right now, but we know they’ll never go out of style. Check it out.
The Lyna Midi Dress

From its puffed sleeves and sweetheart neckline to its tasteful side slit, the Lyna Midi Dress is covered in subtle blue florals from its top to its mid-length bottom. At a glance, you may not notice the floral patterns, and that’s a fitting tribute to what this garment is all about: modesty. And because it is such a modest dress, it is perfect for a garden party or picnic with the family. Did we mention it has a lace-up back as well as matte satin fabric? This is certainly one divine A-line! Wear it with a pair of Laila White Heelsto complete the look.
The Fleur Midi Short Sleeve Dress

Got a fabulous figure you’re dying to show off? This is the dress to do it in. The Fleur Midi Short Sleeve Dress is made from mesh fabric and features sheer cap sleeves, a small bust cut-out, and a tie-up front. It also has ruched detailing at the sides to emphasize your waist. This dress adores you and hugs your every curve, from the top of your shoulders to just below your knees. Oh, and of course, everything about it screams ‘floral’. Just check out the print—it’s a garden of golden roses on lush, green leaves. This one was inspired by spring, but we reckon it speaks enough volumes to take it through to winter!
The Annabell Dress

Whilst Annabel Lee liked to dwell by the sea, this Annabell is all about the garden. This burgundy beauty is dotted with flowers white and red. The Annabell Dress is a darker shade, but at the same time, it’s such a bright and cheerful piece. It’s a celebration of flowers. It’s a garden party in itself! What makes this piece so fun? It’s the ruffled detailing beneath the bust and along the waist. It’s the sheer off-the-shoulder sleeves that balloon out from bust level. It’s the low V-neckline and the skin it leaves on show—especially around the waist. Those side cut-outs give the Annabell Dress some shape.
Wear this A-line mini when the weather is warmer. Who knows? With its burgundy complexion, it could even blend in with autumn fashion. The Annabell Dress would look fab with some Marta Gold Hoop Earrings.
The Melina Long Sleeve Cut Out Dress

Pink florals, anyone? That’s what the Melina Long Sleeve Cut Out Dress is all about. Try this midi on for size and it will cover pretty much everything—except for the waist (and a fair chunk of the chest). Studded with stunning pink florals, this dress has the low V-neckline of—and the basic same shape as—the Annabell Dress. The major difference here is that Melina provides full arm coverage. With its cuffed sleeves and its around-the-waist and under-the-bust frills, this dress looks every bit as innocent as the Lyna Midi Dress until you get to the waist cut-outs. It’s a garden party dress with a flirty edge—literally. This dress goes a treat with some Shailee Pink Flower Drop Earrings.
The Brigette Dress

Let’s finish with a subtle twist on this fab theme: secret florals. What are secret florals, you ask? They’re florals that you don’t notice until you squint. The Brigette Dress is an ‘introverted’ floral dress. Its sage satin fabric bears nothing but golden flowers from its single double-strapped shoulder to its side-slitted fall beneath the knee. You just need to look for this understated elegance.
Because the fabric shimmers in the light, it captures the pattern’s outlining, which is what adds texture to the Brigette Dress. This inverted interpretation of a floral dress is classic and timeless. We’re getting images of Belle in her golden ballgown clutching the Enchanted Rose. Why not pair this classic piece with some Agnes Pearl Drop Earrings with Gold Details?
Which will you pick?
There are some florals that are here for a season, and then there are florals that will stand the test of time. We may be bold in saying so, but we don’t think these stunning floral dresses will ever go out of style. Be they classic and elegant or flirty and fun, these dresses consist of shapes and patterns that endure. After all, floral dresses are not new and they’re not going anywhere soon. If you’re after a timeless classic, then one of these dresses may be your match. What’s your favorite flower?
