What better time would there be to pack away our summer wardrobe and make way for our winter one, than just before the black Friday sales? It is time to embrace warmer clothes and colder weather, but each year there seem to be new trends that we need to keep up with. The beauty of the black Friday sales is we tend to find the most wanted items of the season with slashed prices. Brands such as H&M, Zara, and even luxury brands like Selfridges can have up to 70% of the most popular items, but you have to be quick to snatch the best of the discounts.
When Is Black Friday?
Black Friday this year (in 2022) will be taking place on November 25th and will stretch till Cyber Monday which will take place on Monday the 28th. For those lucky people who get paid on the last Friday of each month, you will be at an advantage. For the rest of us, it would be a good idea to hold back from Christmas purchases until Black Friday to make sure you are getting the most for your money. If you are looking to bag some bargains, the sales officially begin one minute after midnight. It might also be a good idea to find the opening times of your chosen black Friday deals store, and get ready to queue up to an hour before its doors open, depending on the popularity of the shop.
Which Is Better : Cyber Monday or Black Friday?
The surge of reliance on the internet has led to yet another day for sales straight after Friday, also known as Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday was initially created to allow customers to have access to greater levels of stock, rather than being limited to whatever stock was placed within the stores on black Friday. Online you can shop for stunning floral dresses that never go out of style, within the comfort of your own home, with the warehouse level of stock available. As mentioned, with more reliance on the internet and some of our favorite brands only being internet-based, Cyber Monday is valuable however you should expect great online deals on Friday as well.
Some brands might introduce slightly higher discounted prices on Monday, but we wouldn’t recommend holding back an online purchase if you see a great price on Black Friday. It is also important to consider the stock levels. We would always advise you to check on Black Friday for your desired items first, but do not neglect Cyber Monday as it is your last chance to get the best prices before everything is back to normal.
Set A Smart Budget
With the cost of everything increasing, do not splash out all of your cash for the rest of the month on this one day. Of course, it is a great idea to get your Christmas outfits ahead of time whilst they are discounted, but if it means you won’t have the money to pay the increasing bills for the next few months it would not be worth the risk.
Set yourself a smart budget as to what you can realistically part ways with money-wise, and decide if it might be better to stretch the costs of your wardrobe between the two months rather than dropping it in one go. You should not substitute your heating for the month for a luxury new womens blazer, as tempting as it might seem.
Make A List Of Necessities
Once you have made room in your current wardrobe, take some time to write a list of what is missing. Consider what are the pricier items you would need such as a quality winter coat, or some lasting winter boots, and make it your mission to find the best discounts on these necessities.
Download The App Of The Sites You Buy From
A huge time saver to consider when you have confirmed which stores you are aiming to get your clothes from is to download the app versions of the sites assuming that they have one. Many clothing companies are now app-based, and they aim to make their user experience much better. They also allow you to make an account with all your existing details logged in, so when it is time to snatch up the best deals you can have peace of mind that you will be quickly through the checkout with no delays.
Go Up a Size
If you are hoping to shop for your dream wardrobe online rather than in-store, getting the sizing right can be a tricky subject. Even without the black Friday panic, ordering the wrong size of an item is never a good feeling, especially when you bought the item for a quarter of the price.
If you are spending your money on discounted, quality items we would always recommend sizing up to plan for the worst-case scenario. If you size up, you can at least take the item to a good quality tailor to alter the piece to your size. It is a smart and responsible way to not waste any money on items that would not fit.
