Do you know the reason why you aren’t getting promoted at your office? Well, the culprit is all those dull colored clothes which you wear over there. While, this theory seems too good to be true, a recent study conducted in the UK shows that men who wear bright colors to work are more creative and hardworking and are more likely to get a promotion or a pay raise.
So, What the Study Was Actually About
Before getting into the nitty-gritty of why you should adopt a more colorful wardrobe in your work life, let’s have a look at this interesting study. The researchers interviewed 2000 men between 18 to 34 years of age and asked them if their fashion sense plays any role in getting them a good job and having a successful career. While 20 percent of the interviewees agreed that they secured a good job due to their colorful clothing, one in five men also admitted that their fashion sense played a great role in having a good pay raise.
The study shows that there are some basic reasons behind the above findings:
- A person who wears more colorful clothes has got a higher creativity level.
- Colors depict a lot of confidence in a worker’s personality.
- People who wear colorful clothes have a positive effect on their peers. Some of the people even admit that they feel happy by looking at a colleague dressed in bright colors.
