The beauty industry is growing fast and we’re constantly seeing ads about new makeup products. Celebrities are launching their own makeup lines, and brands we love are releasing palettes and new makeup products every week.
But how often do we get to see an innovative, original creation in the makeup industry?
Very rarely, since everything’s been done before and there’s not much to add in the categories of makeup we already have. Although there are always new formulas and ingredients on the market, the products stay the same.
This is why the Swatch Chart caught our eye. Once in a blue moon, you come across a product that’s so unusual, you just have to give it a try!
The Swatch Chart
Glow Gurl is a brand for everyone that’s obsessed with makeup. They make fun tees, hoodies, phone cases and jewelry that express the love for makeup and creativity.
We discovered this brand while browsing some funny makeup memes on Instagram. Among their hilarious slogans and memes, we found this interesting product called “The Swatch Chart”. Their posts said that it’s a visual lipstick organizer, beauty room wall art and personalized décor for makeup lovers. All these claims made us curious to try it out!
We ordered “The Swatch Chart” canvas poster in “Read My Lips” and it arrived in 7 days. If we’re being honest, this is the most we’ve been excited about a product in months!
The Swatch Chart came rolled in a tube. It’s not an ordinary paper poster – the material is a poly cotton blend that’s soft to the touch and feels like a painting. Once we started using it, we realized that this is such a good surface for swatching lipsticks!
We swatched a few of our lippies just to give it a try, and wrote the names of the shades and brands right under the swatch spots. This is where we had our aha moment! It really is a visual lipstick organizer. Our drawers are packed with lipsticks that we forget to use and there are so many beautiful shades that are expired and abandoned just because our collection is so huge. This is also where we realized that we have so many dupes and so many similar colors. Come to think about it, maybe it’s time for some spring time de-cluttering.
Anyways, the idea of having your lipsticks visually organized is genius! Once we get to actually see all of our shades in front of us, we’ll know exactly which colors to pick and use our lipsticks more often. Maybe this will make us stop hoarding lipstick? Highly doubt that, but still, this is such a cool reminder of our lipstick collection.
Wall Art
The design is made so that it coordinates with any existing beauty room décor. The simplicity of the lip shaped swatch spots on black and white surface fits nicely into any surrounding. Once filled in with lipstick swatches, it becomes a unique piece of beauty room wall art!
Was it Worth Our Money?
A thousand times yes!
The Swatch Chart is probably the coolest product we’ve seen in a while. It’s a unique concept that blends makeup with wall art and lets you beautifully display your lipsticks. It’s very useful because it will help you organize your lipsticks and use them more often. Also, you’ll get to have a fun swatch party while you go through your lipstick collection!
If you’re looking to get a swatch chart, or gift one to the makeup lover in your life, go check out glowgurl.co. The Swatch Chart is available in many different sizes and designs: they have hanging canvas prints and canvas wraps which are ready to hang; and swatch charts in color categories (such as nudes, reds, pinks) for all lipstick collectors. They even have a Swatch Chart metal print which is reusable – the metal surface lets you wipe off the lipsticks and swatch again and again! How cool is that?
There are so many sizes to choose from – if you’re not that lipstick obsessed, you can get one in the smallest size (12″x18″) and hang it as the cutest makeup room decor. And if you’re collecting lipstick as if your life depends on it, you can get The Swatch Chart in XL size – which has 120 swatch spots!
